Job Title: QA Engineer
Key Purpose Statement – Core mission
We are seeking a detail-oriented QA Engineer with at least 3 years of experience in manual testing. The ideal candidate should have in-depth knowledge of testing methodologies, experience using JIRA and Zephyr, and the ability to manage test cases, execute test plans, and ensure software quality. Knowledge of native mobile application testing and familiarity with cloud-based cross-browser testing tools like LambdaTest is a plus. Strong English communication skills are essential for effective collaboration across teams. This role will involve working closely with cross-functional teams, identifying bugs, and ensuring a seamless user experience through meticulous testing.
RESPONSIBILITIES
The main responsibilities are to:
- Execute manual test cases and test scripts for various application features and functionality.
- Manage and track defects using JIRA and ensure they are followed through to closure.
- Work with the development team to replicate and diagnose bugs and ensure fixes are applied effectively.
- Use Zephyr to plan and manage test executions, ensuring full traceability between test cases and requirements.
- Perform various types of manual testing, including:
- Functional Testing
- Regression Testing
- Smoke Testing
- Exploratory Testing
- Compatibility and Cross-browser Testing
- Conduct native mobile application testing (iOS and Android) to ensure functionality, usability, and performance across devices.
- Utilize cloud-based cross-browser testing platforms like LambdaTest to ensure compatibility across multiple browsers and operating systems.
- Collaborate with QA Analyst, product owners and QA Leads to review bugs and understand workflows, scenarios and acceptance criteria.
- Provide detailed reports on the status of tests, including coverage, bugs, and overall system quality.
- Contribute to continuous improvement of QA processes.

Key Dimensions
- Test Case Execution Rate: Number of executed test cases against planned cases.
- Valid vs. Invalid Defects Ratio: Percentage of valid (genuine) defects vs. invalid (non-issues or duplicate) defects raised.
- Defect Leakage: Number of defects that escape to production after the testing phase.
- Defect Rejection Rate: Percentage of reported bugs that are rejected by developers or deemed not reproducible.
- Defect Reopen Rate: Percentage of defects that are closed but reopened due to incomplete resolution.
- Time to Execute Test Cases: Average time taken to execute a suite of manual test cases.
- Test Coverage: Percentage of requirements and functionalities covered by executed test cases.
Requirements AND OTHER SPECIFICATIONS – Knowledge, Skills and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
- At least 3 years of experience in manual software testing.
- ISTQB Certification
- Strong experience using JIRA and Zephyr for test management.
- Familiarity with native mobile application testing (iOS and Android) is a plus.
- Knowledge of cross-browser testing platforms such as LambdaTest is a plus.
- Strong English communication skills (written and spoken) are essential.
- Familiarity with the entire Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) and Quality Assurance processes.
