Current Opportunity:
Group Tax Manager is a senior in charge of tax for the whole Fortuna group. Emphasis on overall tax compliance, reporting and efficiencies.
What You’ll Be Doing:
Your daily activities will focus on ensuring tax compliance across Fortuna group:
- Monitors tax deadlines to ensure that returns are prepared on a timely basis; communicates with managers during the preparation process to identify any tax issues to be addressed, ensure timely submits for technical reviews
- Performs and documents regular tax reviews within the individual entities of the Group
- Supervises tax planning of entities and tax optimizations
- Reviews tax accruals and associated supporting calculations, quarterly tax reviews with all entities
- Review of contracts from tax perspective, seeking opportunities for tax savings
- Reviews tax returns/work files for completeness, accuracy and compliance; communicates with and trains staff on areas needing improvement
- Oversees tax examinations and audits
- Assumes the responsibility for the smooth flow of tax returns
- Monitors and analyzes all incoming tax notices and drafts responses
- Trains staff to prepare effective responses to tax notices and reviews for accuracy
- Performs tax research
- Develops a general understanding of firm philosophy and tax opinions
- Participates in administrative projects
- Informs clients, vendors (or staff member) of tax options available and possible outcomes through clear memos, emails or letters
- Stays current on new legislation and educates staff and clients
- Acts as a resource for staff, senior accountants, managers and partners
- Reads all incoming tax literature and disperses to/trains staff as appropriate
- Acts as a key vendor contact person for selected engagements
- Establishes good working relationships with all staff
- Attends continuing professional education on tax and other related topics
- Interacts with other tax professionals
- Demonstrates initiative, creativity and imagination
- Manages work products of external tax advisors
- Performs other tasks and projects assigned by the manager
What We’re Looking For:
- Master’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Tax or a related field would be an advantage
- Proficiency in English is mandatory.
- Proficiency in Czech is highly desirable.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in group tax position
- Proven experience in a multinational company
- Extensive knowledge of tax environment in the Czech Republic, other jurisdictions welcome
- Understanding of corporate finance
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to understand impact of management decisions
- Understanding of links to risk management and financial compliance
- Communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities
- Flexibility to adapt to changing business environments and requirements
- Organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work with colleagues and, consult and support the business decisions
