Current Opportunity:
We are seeking a Mathematician to join our Sportsbook Quants team to develop statistical models and algorithms for sports betting and provide mathematical support across all FEG markets. The new team member will contribute to improving our current betting and offer platform, enhancing the competitiveness of the sportsbook product in all FEG markets, and supporting product differentiation that drives revenue and profit growth
What You’ll Be Doing:
As a Mathematician in our Quant team, you will work closely with Bookmakers, Product Managers, Risk Management specialists, and Developers to design, test, and improve the models that power our betting markets. Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
- Designing and developing statistical models and algorithms for sports betting applications, including odds calculation, implementation, and evaluation
- Adapting and improving existing mathematical models to meet the specific needs of FEG markets
- Conducting rigorous testing and analysis to continuously refine our odds and pricing strategies
- Data mining of historical sports data for analytical and modeling purposes
- Validating and configuring models to ensure reliability and optimal performance
- Providing mathematical expertise and support across all FEG markets
- Performing ad hoc analyses to support our strategic initiatives
- Sharing insights and outcomes of your work while providing operational support across teams
What We’re Looking For:
- Degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Data Science, or a related field (students on the last year of their studies are also welcome)
- Mathematical mind. Strong analytical mindset with attention to detail. Proactive and a team player (cooperating with other teams and having a curious mindset)
- English language (Intermediate), Czech/Slovak language would be an advantage
- Solid understanding of probability theory, combinatorics, and their practical applications
- Strong background in statistical methods, such as regression analysis; familiarity with simulation techniques (e.g., Monte Carlo, bootstrap) is a plus
- Hands-on experience conducting statistical and data-driven analyses
- Knowledge of at least one programming language, ideally R or Python
- Familiarity with SQL is a plus
- Knowledge of the global sports betting environment is a plus
